It would help if everyone went vegan but it's not necessary. Just lowering our meat and animal product consumption would be sufficient. It's because of the population. Global population estimates during the 15th century is around 350-400 million people. Now it's 7 billion. A significant larger population means a significant increase in cattle to support the population. In addition to the 200 years of fossil fuel consumption since the industrial revolution, we've had a much bigger impact on global warming in two centuries than the previous 800,000 years. please log in to view this image This graph shows the extent of carbon emissions in the last 200 years (red and blue lines) compared to the emissions of the last 800,000 years (green lines). The global warming from carbon emissions caused by volcanic eruptions throughout history is nothing compared to the emissions caused by humans in modern history.
One of the things with some people and conspiracy theories is that they seem to argue that if you mention it, you buy into it 100% and own it. Some of the seemingly more ridiculous theories can stop me in my tracks and make me ponder some part of the argument, perhaps looking at how it could fit with a totally unrelated theory.
No, I don't study climatology at uni and nor am I an expert. It's what I learned from climatologists, you know, the actual experts.
I think we can all do our bit. My car has climate control, so I've been whacking it on full to help save the planet.
It's one thing gathering more samples for accuracy, but they've been a bit over zealous with their deforestation leaving us with no trees older than about 5,000 years old.
These 'ere aliens landed in Boothferry Park in the mid to late '90s, became so pissed off they have never been seen again.
Ah, but if man hadn't decimated the cork-tree population, they could have bunged up the cattle problem. Eat more red meat I say.
Definitely. Their entire populations will have their fingers stuck in dykes, fending off the rising tides. No time to train for competitive sports.
