This isn't really any help as we live in the North West but we had a ceiling installed under the glass roof obviously and it transformed a room we couldn't sit in when the sun shone, it actually does occasionally in the Lakes and makes it a nice place to sit on a good day in the winter.
We don't have radiator heating and use a fan heater to take the chill off on colder days.
The ceiling is properly plastered and painted and has been a God send since we had it done, can't remember the final bill but it under £2000 and done in a day.

I was thinking about getting a quote from this company for a lightweight roof but they are down in Whitby and I am up in Northumberland so the distance might be a problem although they say they cover the whole of the North East

I did mine in the south east but it really was worth it. My top tip is to consider light and invest more in bigger roof windows to keep light coming in
Bit drink so reply properly tommoorow. Yiu can gave lightweyight roof which I'd cteap but bang aversge or I'd say psy bit more nd get steel frame with a traditiiomal timber roof nd ptoper tiles

I was trying to say you could have a steel frame bolted to the floor and that allows you to build a timber frame and put traditional tiles on it. The steel would be hidden by the plastics.
The guardian system is fine but I'm still not convinced with the longevity of them. Depending on the tiles on your home roof it can also be hard to match it when using the lightweight roof and you would preferably want them both the same.

Seem to be a decent company mate - lots of info on their site and good reviews too.
The kind of wrap around foil/quilt insulation? That appealed to me because it appears cheaper than glass or tile replacements but I keep reading reports that it is to be avoided as the roof becomes too heavy and can cause damage. Obviously that hasn't been the case with yours?
Anyone else had experience with the kind of wrap around foil/quilt insulation? Rival companies claim it's crap but TrustPilot reviews seem really good.
We have the foil quilted insulation above our ceiling, the downside of that from the company that installed it is that it can be unsightly to look down on from a bedroom window if you have a house, being in a bungalow that didn't apply so we went ahead and haven't regretted it.
