but mclean wasn't playing anyways... and fryatt is on the mend. I don't think we need another striker. I've said it all before, we can't keep bringing new players just because ours aren't firing on all cylinders... simpson and poschwitz aren't prolific but I don't see how bringing in other strikers can possibly help that.
there's no certainty they will... so if wickham comes in can't score, if gedo can't score... we get another couple strikers? when fryatt is fit and if mclean was called back we'd have 5 strikers on our books... for me it makes no sense to replace replace replace without selling... all it will do is piss simpson and poschwitz off even more, which can disrupt the team's atmosphere and players relationship and all you're effectively doing is guaranteeing that those two won't "come good"
According to the Sunderland Echo, we were in for Wickham: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...to-get-sunderland-s-wickham-on-loan-1-5395467
the old joke about "where does caesar keep his armies"? "up his sleevies" I have already left, not stopping long enough to get my coat.
It could be that SB wanted him at the end of the emergency loan window so as to be available for the play-offs, but MON wanted it sorted quickly. If that is SB's strategy we could see a few decent options snapped up by other teams.
