I agree with brb too. Essam was by far the best centre back last season and from what I have seen so far a better player than Flanagan. Looks like Barrett is going to be first choice now he has the captains armband.
I have not seen anything from Flanagan to justify him being in our squad whilst we have loaned Essam out!
Thanks everyone, I was beginning to think I was wearing rose-tinted glasses. As for Flanagan, anyone that was at Priestfield yesterday cannot seriously believe he is better than Essam even if Connor does needs match time, give him it at the Gills, he got no more than the last 5 minutes of injury time at Luton yesterday! Also people have been saying about Davies edging out the lad, so does anyone know why Davies was on the bench yesterday? All this squad rotation is doing my head in.
