Sure, it's possible he'll set the world alight, but he didn't set the Scottish league alight last year, and certainly hasn't set Europe alight by all accounts. I mean, it wouldn't be an issue if this were a part of a major overhaul that saw us bring in a bevy of attacking options. But absent that, he's another merely-okay pseudo-attacking midfielder in a position where we need a creative force.
To defend Armstrong a little here, Albeit knowing very little about the player. He had a lot of Injury issues last season supposedly. So he wouldn't be as consistent. Also it may keep Lemina on his toes too.
Sure, but the biggest knock against him seems to be that he's a poor passer both in technique and guile, something that should be less affected by injury than other qualities.
I haven't seen him play, I guess that's concerning if true.. Have you watched him? or going off clips or word of mouth.. I'm happy to wait n see.
Even I'm not enough of a sucker for punishment to watch the SPL, but I've been reading their forums occasionally given that we've been linked with him for a year now, and their appraisal of his talents is a heck of a lot different than it was with Wanyama, VVD and Forster.

Ok so Celtic fans moaned about him, but our fans moan a lot about players like Ryan (not trying, etc) but does that make him a bad signing for someone else? I doubt it. Is our new stance to moan about every player our Board signs, because they’ve had some bad ones before? Let’s give them a chance and then moan if they’re not good.
No, it's that we're going to sign a finite number of attackers. Likely two, all told. And we're going to subtract two attackers, one of whom was the only generally creative element in our lineup. So the fact that one of the two attackers we sign is a guy who wasn't a consistent standout in the SPL is a bit of a problem. He might surpass those expectations and be a driving force in our lineup. I wouldn't place money on it. We don't need more okay.

We have had some good players from the Scottish league, so players aren't necessarily tainted for playing there. He's at a good price and age if he does well for us, so let's just wait and see.
