Spoiler: it’s because they just have people who sit on Twitter all day following reliable journalists and then pinch their story once the journalist breaks some news.
Still seeing quotes of 20m euros in the Belgian press. Think its safe to say we will pay somewhere between £10m-£18m including bonuses. Edit: Alex Crook saying £10m upfront with £4m in add-ons# Not bad.
His stats show a ridiculously high amount of dribbles attempted/completed. Hopefully someone that can get us off our seats, and not alien Lucy version 2!
Adam Leitch reporting that the deal won’t be announced for about a week or so, due to the need to wait for the government to finalise his work permit. What he has said is... - having his medical - £14m after all bonuses - personal terms agreed - the contract is a five-year deal
This automatically takes me back to The Potter's Heron and signing Kevin Keegan. Pretty much the single most jaw dropping Saints moment in my lifetime.
Not a deal breaker, but annoying when players play for countries outside Europe....they disappear at inconvenient times.
Think it’s safe to say we will never know the exact fee; and as I’m not paying it (well, not directly) I’ll trust the club to do the right deal this time.
I remember it happening to a friend of mine in around 2013. He’s the reporter for the Southend Echo and tweeted that he had an exclusive on their search for a new manager and that it would be on the back page of tomorrow’s paper. Next day, across the back page he had the news that Phil Brown was set to become the club’s new manager. His source was the CEO of the club. It was nowhere else that morning. Within two hours it was on Sky Sports as ‘Sky Sources’. I remember him tweeting that he never had any idea that he was a Sky Source!
I remember when Bobby Moore was Southend’s manager; that must have been a hell of a scoop for someone
Either my very early identification of the baddie in Line of Duty.... Or My detective work when that photo of Poch and his kids going through security at Spuds training ground. I searched and found photos where at the very bottom you could see the exact matching tiles .... * taps head
21st June to 19th July. Mali have Tunisia, Angola and Mauritania in their group, so you'd expect them to qualify in the top two. No idea if Djenepo is in their squad or not, though.
