Firstly, Martin has a driver!? In my mind they were an extravagence of billionaire CEOs, mafia bosses, politicians and monarchs. Secondly, the long list of short lived managers at Chelsea probably didn't even know his name (to be fair, theres a lot to remember). Touch of class from Martin, especially for a player who is only with us for a season with no option to make it a permanent move. Thirdly, I wonder if Lesley will force his way into the team and as a result change our entire setup. Don't need 3CBs and 2DMs (except for maybe away at Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool)! And maybe having 2 DM's allows us to play an Alcaraz in front to get a bit more creativity and penetration in the final third.
On your thirdly, I can’t see us moving away from a back three, now we have five centre backs. I think KWP has chucked in a bit of spanner into the works(so far), but i wouldn’t be surprised to see us play someone more associated as a winger as one of the wing backs(like Fraser) with one of the centre backs being asked to cover the traditional left back role whilst in possession. I didn’t watch the Newcastle game, but assume this was the intention by replacing Sugawara with Edozie
