Kinda. Generally there is no 'financial penalty': either you can buy them or you can't. As far as I am aware, with Toby it was part of the original arrangement, and thus there was no real reneging: they availed themselves of a clause that allowed them to cancel our option to buy by basically refunding the loan fee. Which made a lot of sense from their perspective, as the fee baked in looked comically low after the season he had. We could have gone back and tried to sign him anyway for more money, but instead opted to play a weird form of hardball while threatening legal action, which went exactly nowhere. Well, I guess it went to Tottenham, and perhaps would have anyway.
Luckily, anyone who looks imposing without trying to look imposing has about a 99% chance of being impossibly nice. Just...hopefully not to opposing strikers.
Last night I stayed up and watched both the BBC Southern News and Meridian News (after News at 10.00pm and ITV 10.00pm news respectively). I was hoping for a couple of mins on Saints transfer day dealings but neither of them even mentioned the transfer deadline yesterday - very bizarre! To top it off when I finally got to bed Mrs Lambertissier was snoring like a Victorian foghorn and I couldn't get to sleep for a good couple of hrs! (**For the record I was going to abbreviate Mrs Lambertissier to Mrs LBT but that would have sounded like a very liberal kind of marriage so decided against it**)
He will train for the Liverpool game, but I would be surprised if he got into the team without Ralph having a really good look at him playing with his team mates....especially the other defenders. He's promising, but not a great star that you can't leave out. Have to give him a chance to settle as well.
what used to annoy me was some of the so called local radio stations giving out results of the big six in the news bulletins before giving out or even bothering about local sides.
The 20-year-old defender is the final incoming Premier League transfer deadline day deal to be announced, hours after Thursday's window closed Big 6
I think we’ve done pretty well this window; with incomings anyway. Would have been nice to have got rid of a bit of our overburdening deadwood but maybe there’s still a chance overseas with their window closing later. Up front we have (hopefully) addressed our pace / wide issues & now we have another CB option. If Ralph can sprinkle a lil magic on Hoedt, Boufal & the new guys, we’ll be in for a good season.
