Is it just me or does this guy seem a litte bitter https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...h-to-southampton-from-manchester-city-3734320
Very much how we are going to need to operate to sign pretty much anyone. So no real issues with this
I expect it is the only way we managed to sign Mane. And probably also why the fee we got for him was lower than many would have liked. 2 years and a 22m profit was a lot better than him never ever joining
Weirdly, though I've seen this thread a million times, I just read it as Saint Gavi and got really, really excited for a moment.
Happy to hear that. Confirms that he will hopefully be #1 and also fits our business model of getting the best talent in, give them a platform, shift them on for a profit.
Jesus, that’s in a ‘newspaper’. It would be nice to post a message to the fans/club but what a crap article.
Indeed, this could be a good peice of business for us and he seems very talented. It does bring into play the need to have some leadership in front of him, it's a lot to put the onus on such a young keeper to organise his defence. I do feel we need that experienced head in front of him. Let's hope that Saints will invest in that role and not just focus on just youth for future resale (which l don't think they will).
Doesn't matter what the age of a keeper is, a good keeper needs to organise his defence. Yes we need some leadership at CB as well, but the keeper has to provide it as well.
If we can get good relationships with the likes of Chelsea and Man City where it makes this kind of move good for us and good for them then it’s ideal given the amount of young talent they collect.
I would hope the club, especially someone like Rasmus surely must have a Leader with experience at CB as his main priority. Obviously with these nations league games and hierarchy on holiday it was probably difficult to bring anyone in for serous talks.
