Yep, Spertsyan and Rudoni. I thought Rudoni was primarily an AM. Rudoni straight up wanted to stay to play under Lampard (and Coventry are obviously a promotion candidate still too). But with all the back and forth troubles with Spertsyan, seems we sounded out Azaz as a backup a few weeks ago. Spertsyan deal clearly dead so we’ve now gone in for Azaz.
If they’re all still here by the end of the window, then barring injury/suspension, keeping them all happy might prove a challenge, but better that than no competition for places
Rudoni seems like more of a like for like for Fernandes. Indeed at this stage I’m not sure we should be considering selling Fernandes unless we can get him or someone very similar. Azaz seems to play further forward than Fernandes / Rudoni. Similar position to Spertsyan and it seems like it the alternative unless the plan was for him to be played wide and cutting in or to play with two 10s in a 3-4-2-1 (and no wingers)
Not sure my grandson will be as please as Saints fans. He wasn’t happy when Matt Crooks left, because he was the best Boro player EVER. Maybe Azaz isnt his new best player EVER. I’ll tell him Matt Target can be a replacement.
In tbe days before the internet, i had a Boro supporting colleague who was a brilliant wind up merchant and would do stuff like produce fake speeding notices. I was frequently the subject of his jokes but got him back big time by telling him Boro had imploded and were selling thesw two players. I told him that this was all over Radio 3 . He was so convinved he rushed off from work early to check in Ceefax. I think football was more fun back then !
