It is funny that this broke less than 24hrs after Martin came out to say we wouldn’t spend more than £20m on players as these players want bigger wages.
I know this sounds negative, but it is more from a place of curiosity as to why he signed for us.... I wonder, what happens if we go down? It's surprising enough he joined us in the prem but surely he wouldn't accept championship football. So I wonder if we have a relegation release clause in the contract. Either way, it would likely be designed so that we recoup our outlay so it is not a risk. I'm just wondering how we convinced him to sign!
Yep. I respect him so much. Compared to someone like Toney who has thrown football in the bin to move to Saudi. What a bloke. What a signing. Unreal!!
Assumed all the rumours up til a few days ago were simply because he was at the playoff final. They possibly were but other options for him didn’t materialise so we got him and can’t fault the club for getting a top goalkeeper Everton have probably stayed up the last few years solely because of Pickford keeping them in games/winning them points so hopefully Ramsdale can have a similar impact
Just watched his interview. The funniest thing is he goes on to talk about how they always turn up at wembley to support their mates in fancy dress and was talking about WWE and Harry Potter etc, then the next sentence on how has he changed since his Bournemouth days was "I am definitely more mature"

I'm hoping that this will be a great move for Baz too. I don't know what AR's personality is like but if he can mentor and help Baz that can only be a bonus for the club. I don't want Baz to go and he's still very young. (Mini Lincoln has already requested Ramsdale's name on the back of his shirt!)
