This is beginning to p*ss me off now. My really happy new mood since 29th November is beginning to feel a bit under pressure. This take-over had better go through, and it had better go through by the end of the first week in January, absolute latest.
Sky mentioned during the Hull game that it takes about 6 weeks to complete. By my calculations, and allowing for Christmas, that means mid January at the earliest. Prior to then we are still owned, and restricted by RD
I hope the new owners are working with Bowyer and Gallen then, to target players we need to get in. The situation will be ridiculous if the EFL dithering costs us the January transfer Window. We were told about this on November 29th, so it must have been sorted a few days earlier than that at least. For the EFL not to be able to ratify it until halfway through January (maybe longer) is a massive headache. Can't they get anything right? Without strengthening in January we are completely reliant on players coming back from injury, and not getting injured again. And Taylor will almost certainly go, if another team offers him a good deal and we can't match it because of the EFL. Let's make no mistake - Charlton are in serious danger of relegation now. Our form is terrible. Granted, a couple of wins in the next three or four games and the pressure will be eased. But we keep waiting and the wins aren't coming. Friday evening in the 96th minute was an absolute hammer blow.
Were this the Aussies & their entourage of hangers on, I’d be worried. But I am not in the slightest under this lot. People just need to be patient for a little longer. January is the important month.
I'm fairly confident this is happening. My confidence that the EFL will do the business quickly is much less - sadly we've all complained they let RD in without due care and attention and they may be a bit slower these days, which as we need to sort out contracts and get in new players, IS a worry. Gonna be a bit nerve wracking. Hopefully no owners means at least we cannot reléase Taylor on a cheap sale.
No point busting a gut to keep Taylor if he doesn’t want to be here. If they pay him £20,000 a week, what’s that going to do for dressing room harmony? My bet is LT will force a move for a nominal fee. The final legacy of Duchâtelet.
Due to Christmas and other ongoing issues at other clubs, I am certain all is okay and things will be sorted early January. See you all on the 11th January.
Whilst having a beer and getting an eyeful of the Brasilian crumpet, I am reading the April 2015 issue of VOTV. Reading this, and other issues around the same period, I shake my head whilst looking back at what has gone on. What a ****ing mess these ****s have left us in.
The EFL are probably on an extended holiday, and will deal with our predicament in their own time, so it looks lie we'll go into 2020 with Douchatelet at the helm.
the instagram new owner posted something again last night. lots of gift tags with "coming soon" written on each. i think they're waiting for new years day. sort of makes sense... the new owner cant do anything till then. might as well let roland cover the bills till then. secondary thought of the efl might not like RD too much after his rants over the years so they may have told the new guys they'll keep quiet till the 1st Jan to help them out; knowing that they have RD over a barrel - he wants his money.
Why is January 1st a better date to announce the take-over is complete than any other day? Showbiz? It's a day like any other. Happens to be a Bank Holiday. If this whole business has been strung out (even by a few days) because of simple theatrics, I won't be impressed. Not having a direct pop at the new owners, but we don't need showbiz nonsense. This isn't a TV talent show for pity's sake. GET IT DONE and stop mucking about.
For pity's sake Jim - you're an embarrassment. Wasn't a take-over "48 hours" away this time last year according to you? Stop hanging on to the fringes of a story you got 100% WRONG while you were toadying up to Duchatelet just to wind Charlton fans up. Just go away and annoy Newcastle Utd fans instead.
