In response to my request I have received the following reply:- Thank you for your email. We have added you to our list of supporters who have requested a physical season ticket card for the upcoming season. It will arrive to you in the post before the first home game of the season - no need to make payment for your card. Thank you for your email." That's the way to do it, they do care.
Well, that's something, but to be honest, if they really cared they'd give all fans the option at purchase. Not some small text advising you to contact them if you want a physical card.
Well their original FAQs mentioned something about 'older fans' which makes me wonder if that may form part of it.
I would hope it would also include people with forms of mental disability too. In the days when I worked in the care industry, one of my clients was a season ticket holder at Selhurst Park and needed people to organise buying his ticket and looking after it for him. He could get himself to and from the ground, but was always met by someone who had the seat next to him, who held the ticket. He couldn’t use a phone but he was a bit of a character and I was told stories about how he would sometimes stand at his bedroom window shouting Eagles, whilst being stark bollock naked.
Just saw the article on the Saints site about season tickets being sold out. Says season ticket numbers are up 20% on last season, but doesn’t give a figure for either this season or last.
Just rang up and got added to the list for a physical season ticket No mention at all of a charge. Makes me wonder if that was there to put people off? Wonder if today's events might spook more people into wanting one.
I believe the number for last season was 21,000. Which would make sense, takes it to 25,000 STHs, plus 3,000 away allocation puts it to 28,000. Leaves about 3k general sale and hospitality
Just got my Forest ticket through on the 'Saints Tickets' app. Like quite a few would still have preferred a normal season ticket card but that, as they say, is progress (until it all goes tits up when trying to get into the first match that is )
My ST card arrived on Thursday in a plain envelope which wasn't stuck down properly! I was expecting the Lazio ticket.
