Shows how bad our defence is when Tate is making a difference.

Not really Ristac. It just showed we needed someone with a bit more experience to tighten things up & organise. It would also help if we had LBs who had a left foot, rather than play Peltier out of position. I also think someone needs to explain to Lees the importance of staying on your feet, only putting in a tackle when you need to, and keeping your hands off the opposition in the penalty area. In my day, these were the basic requirements of a defender.

Don't know about how much of a difference Tate is making, he was ****e against Forest and Hull, easily the worst player on the pitch at Forest.

Maybe I should have said was... I certainly remember a few claiming he was a major part of the reason why we had put together a small winning streak and why fans expectations rose prior to the Forest and Hull games who were hoping for 6 points and in the top 6 come the new year.

To be honest although you can see he has more quality than our entire midfield I am not impressed with the thought of signing Thomas, he can't last 90 minutes he gives the ball away too much and is the wrong age. Then I am not impressed with any of Warnocks signings now they have all been given a chance, Kenny maybe the best of them.

Jay Bothroyd for the striker anyone? Signed for QPR by Colin and just returned to them from a loan at Weds.

Was thinking the same thing. Warnock likes 'players he has worked with before' although I think we are alright for strikers. He seems to have some faith in Somma. That being said he got taken off at half time so lets see if he gets the Poleon treatment or it was purely a change of personnel due to sharpness/formation.

Cant see Rosco being happy if he isnt getting game time & theres the constant Becchio rumours & is it worth backing Warnock now if he is going to walk at the end of the season?

Plenty of questions there which I am sure will be answered during the window.

Sky sports today report we are on the verge of signing Derry and Hill from QPR - Sorry my faith in Warnock is getting weaker by the day.

Derry. We slated him while he was with us before as too old. 5 years later!!!!!

And what's the difference between him, Austin and Brown?

We need a battling creative player who can dominate the middle and work well with the rest, all need to be able to get up and down, and all need to be able to pass and think under pressure.

If we are spending money on these 2 players mentioned, I am seriously concerned

Spending **** all I'd say on them and probably what we feared, we would just be getting more of the same. Gfh hardly think Derry will put more bums on seats. On a positive note, it'll be a short term signing

I think Derry and Hill would be great signings, obviously short term like the general outlook at Leeds at the moment, but at least Hill's a quality, experienced, specialist LB - oh hang on we already have one of those in Drury, the best LB in the division according to Warnock! (Maybe Warnock's simply changed his mind about him)

All in all those two would be usefull additions, the worry is though, in the unlikely event we gain promotion this season, hardly any of the current squad are good enough for the PL, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I just hope Sky have got it wrong with those two, I agree, what does Derry offer different to Green, Austin, Brown and even Tonge if we resign him and Hill 34 years of age?

Don't get your hopes up lads, cheap and cheerful will be the order of the day I'm afraid.

GFH will simply be aiming to avoid relegation this season then get the chequebook out in the summer, perhaps with a new manager at the helm.

    Softly, softly, catchy monkey.

Wickersley, relegation really isn't an issue for us, even more so given that we're only 5pts off top 6. I'd also wonder why Harry would let Derry go given that QPR are letting more in than us & in serious need of a reasonably reliable DM. As others say, what does Derry give us that players we already have give us? A creative midfield, yes plese. If we can find one, a 10 to 15 goal a season forward as well please.

He is not premiership quality, he is ageing and it would free up a wage and bring a small amount in for him to be replaced. He has only made 8 appearances for them this season.

QPR aren't exactly short of money. So no real need to free up money for someone like Cole. More to the point, Harry actually sung Derry's praises recently when compairing his efforts with those he considers overpaid & not being prepared to put in a shift.
