Either way, when you consider we sold Joe Allen for £15 million and had Jonjo for £5 million, he is easily worth somewhere in between that bracket. Feel free to send Schneiderlin our way too lads
Thanks. I am sad about it although it was inevitable. I can only assume that he's not a good trainer because last year, for example, he probably ended up being a more important player for us than Lallana who is worth £20m plus (NOT). Obviously, Koemans doesn't fancy him and neither did Potty, he had to force himself into the team. Anyway, good luck to him. He better not be playing on Sunday. One thing that does worry me a bit with RK bringing in all his Dutch connections is what could happen if he were to leave. Despite all last summer's departures there was at least some continuity. If RK were to leave, well, MELTDOWN obviously.
Why worry? Can you stop players from leaving? You don't need to worry, you just need to enjoy the players while they are here.
Which is why he's off to Swansea and not Liverpool! No worries, I know I'm in a group of 1. Seriously though, Lallana towards the end was somewhat frustrating, a tad too much showboating and not quite enough end product.
*Insert sappy nostalgic comment here* Seriously though, I hope I'm not the only one who's not really bothered about Cork leaving.
I'm not that bothered. I already prefer Reed and this means he'll get more game time. The fee seems high considering he is almost out of contract.
That's stretching credibility quite a way. Cork was never as important as Lallana last season, although he was important, in that every player is important at Saints. I'm sad that he's gone, but let's not cloud our judgement with ideas that Koeman just doesn't fancy him, and neither did Potty. There are reliably better players around, for the games Saints have been playing. I'm sure he's a fine trainer, and he'll be doing it for Swansea from now on. And as for all the Dutch players possibly arriving with Koeman's favour, doesn't that say to you that Koeman might be staying for the longer term rather than the shorter..? No meltdown.
It's always a slight shame to see a stalwart leave and Cork has been a very good first reserve but I'm sure he can be replaced.
Yep, shows yet again how tough it is for Saints to build a squad together. In the old days he would have been the 12th man, yet we can't keep him for lack of starting football and we struggle to keep the best ones for other reasons. Jack put in some great performances at the start of this season to force his way into Koemans plans as I think had Taider of worked out we probably would have sold him in the summer. Still as others have said. Thanks Jack for being a great performer and helping the club in its journey. Lets hope Koeman can keep the squad evolving and not revolving
Why all the drama over Cork's dad? Obviously he cares about his son more than Saints, so will ruffle feathers with the occasional post when it comes to contract talks. But he had some kind words for Saints as well, saying his son loved it there and he hopes we continue winning.
