He checked out soon after RM was sacked. As long as we get a good fee for him, that’s life and is the model SR want to create. I personally think it’s a year too early for him to leave, but good luck to the kid. I would rather keep Fernandes, and build around him.
There will definitely still be interest, but if carries on like this until the end of the season, clubs will definitely be thinking the rumoured £40m-£50m is steep for a kid that had a good 3 months. We know SR will play hard ball and won't sell on the cheap so I definitely think there is now a small chance he stays. Whilst I still think he will probably go, if we don't get offered close to £40m, I don't think we would sell.
Dibling's head has been turned imo. I think £40m is the max we'll get for him. Hope for his sake it's not one of the top clubs. I don't think he's ready for that personally.
Depends how much we're banking on the money and how desperate he is to go I guess. He's not done enough to be valued at £50m imo.
If he’s not going to sign a new contract here, which he clearly isn’t, it weakens our hand to play hardball too as we kinda have to sell him this window. Buying clubs will know this too and probably will just lowball us.
He won't sign a new contract because he thinks he is off. If we don't get offered what we think he is worth, we may think he will provide more valuable in helping us get promoted - we know how much that is worth. If that happens then he may well be willing to sign a new contract with a release clause. He will be earning bugger all (by football standards) so won't want another year or two on those wages. It really depends what we get offered as I think the absolute minimum we would sell for is £35/£40m
Certainly not in recent weeks. It’s not a good signal to send to potential buying clubs, if they detect a rather petulant, can’t be bothered trait, that will show up when week after week he keeps the bench warm for 10 minutes of useless time etc. Someone needs to get into his ear!!
Yeah this, I don't know whether it is deliberate or not but my Dad was saying to me the other day (and he likes Dibling, and never really warmed to RM) that Dibling hasn't put an actual good performance in since Russell left. It is true
Ordinarily I would be happy to see us get £40m for a player, but I just don’t trust SR to invest it properly.
