I wonder how the compulsory purchase is written. If he is injured and only plays 5 games do we still have to spend 16m? I hope we wrote it well or that could be another Carillo sized money hole for next summer’s budget.
That was the most complimentary goodbye message that I have seen. Saints value character as well as talent.
And if we do have to offer Liverpool 16m, can we offer Ings 50p a week + a packet of pork scratchings + a beer if we win as wages if it comes to it and we don't really want him?
Good morning world, thats' unexpected!! Good stuff! Well done the Club, the window couldn't have gone much better in terms of players in and positions. Really hope Danny delivers for us and his injury woes are behind him. Was very disappointed when he went to Liverpool in the first place. Now that he's realised the error of his ways he'll have some proper fans cheering him just for hitting the target! doesn't have to go in, hitting the target will be an achievement here!
I imagine the £16m will just be deducted from some clauses/installments Liverpool probably owe us on Mane/VVD. Feels slightly panicky but I don't hate the signing, keep him fit and he should do well for us. Have to say there is a question mark over his fitness though.
Also, a snippet from me... JK didn’t want to sell him. He agreed to let Danny go because he was desperate to be playing again and he wanted to be with us. Klopp was planning on keeping Ings around the squad up there at the back end of the season. LFC also didn’t go into the market for a striker. Very popular behind the scenes with both club staff and playing staff. One of the nicest people in football from my perspective. Would be amazing if it all comes together for him now at the club he supports.
Kinda seems that way. Guessing we did that because Liverpool wanted to offload permanently, but we weren't willing to spend the money now? £16m for Ings is a bit nuts.
