It took a while to click in that they were the same person. Looks like a selfie of somebody with bad hair.

Don't go preowned, go with company refurbished. A laptop will never break down ever, only one of it's parts can. Parts are easily replaceable and cheap. Cosmetically it will be brand new too.

You should put your foot down, give a small businessman a boost and get exactly the same thing for less than half the price instead of overpaying on mark up to a company who 1 is ripping you off, 2 probably doesn't even pay tax and 3 moves all it's profits out of the economy.

Interesting thread this one, with some insightful advice on a subject that is a complete mystery to me.
As an aside, I remember starting work in an office where some of the older blokes panicked when the phone rang, I'm beginning to know exactly how they felt . <laugh>

Linux is good, but maybe not for everyone.

If you basically only want to browse the internet, a Chromebook is a decent option (and ChromeOS is actually based on Linux). Again though, they aren't for everyone.

I'm with you on that one.

I've never even tried, I'd only be wasting my time and money because I know what the end result would be.

I don't care enough to be honest, but I'll keep it in mind for when I have a very slow day.
