We looked tired again. It had all the hallmarks of previous tournaments. We need to get our head out of the sand and realise that our league is brutal. We rock up mentally and physically tired. We play group games in October and look a good side. We turn up in June/July and barely string two passes together. Its not ****ing rocket science. Just introduce a winter break and be done with it.
This attitude is infectious and why England lags behind the rest of Europe. Winning at any cost has been drilled into players at every level and as a result, many players are **** scared to take risks and express themselves. Flair players have long been a minority and have often been misused.
Look at Arsenal.
They play so-called "beautiful football" and they haven't won anything in 7 years.
Ugly football can work; look at Spain in 2010.
