Boring. We're way past that now. Most agree that I'm a genuine City fan, just a bit misguided and naive. Keep up, Christ.
Most of us think you're a bit ****ed in the head as well. Not necessarily in a bad way, just not in a good way either.
Softer ****. A contract is not formed unless there is consideration going in both directions. In this case they promise to play football for Hull City, and Hull City promise to pay them. We can't just say you promise to come to us when we are ready and expect them to stop looking around. If we don't pay them they go elsewhere. We tried the "gentlemans agreement" system with Fraizer Cambell and look how successful that was!
Schoolboy (primary) riposte. Don't deny you are misguided or a genuine fan. Still think you post things for effect, rather than out of genuine belief, and that is juvenile. So keep up? Christ? I'm 2011 years ahead of you, and not a Christian either (by the way).
But they can't demand wages from us whilst they're still under contract to another club, therefore signing them for this coming season a month ago would have cost us no more than signing them on July 1st would.
I think the way everyone slags off Percy just epitomises Hull City fans in general, why do we always need someone to have a dig at? Last season it was Harper, but seeing as there's no football on, let's go for a fan, eh? I didnt realise difference of opinions wasnt allowed here, on a forum.
Of course differing opinions are both allowed (and, hopefully, welcomed) on this forum. Percy, however, doesn't merely present a different opinion/set of opinions. He appears to revel in being a WUM and thus sets himself up for the invective that follows and streams his way. [I think he enjoys it in his wee masochistic way].
Agreed, it wouldn't be much of a discussion board if people agreed on everything. As long as there is a sensible debate going on without it spiralling into a farce then i don't think there's a problem. Percy can make some good points when he puts things into a well formed argument, but like Erik says the manner in which he puts things across is what causes most of the problems. Some of his points are very hard to believe and appear rather far fetched, such as 'NP doesn't want to be here' and 'we would still be in the premier league if Brown was here' etc. The way these points are constructed are very much statements with little foundation, with little proof to back them up and the arrogance and stubborness he sometimes conveys causes problems too. Some people can criticise the tirade of abuse Percy gets, but by the same token Percy is aware of how controversial some of his views are and should take better care to present his views in a way that can't be provocative, thus preventing the mud slinging that occurs.
The 'NP doesn't want to be here' comment was particularly ill-thought out but I guess it takes all sorts to have a debate, I've been on other forums where vile comments are the norm and you don't get that here so I'll take Percy over those sort of idiots.
In Percy's defence, he's not as bad as clowns like Doveston who resort to being rude and insulting to other posters in nearly every post they make.
agreed even with Folan we were lacking a big lad who can bully defences, Folan couldn't bully a six-year old for a lolly, and I'm sure Mclean jumps higher.. I see what NP is doing, he's bringing in the "types" of player we need clearly on a limited budget because his hands are still tied with the big earners not yet shifted.. re the reletive intelligence of percy & doveston, percy just enjoys creating arguments although he appears bright wheras doveston is abrasive.
