wtf has it got to do with FIFA as to when any player does not play - if he is not injured ( suspensions not included ) ??? Bale is not the ' property ' of FIFA - they do not pay his contract. The parent club should have absolute right in IF they don't want them to play. No business of anyone else.
No need to ban him, but the Welsh FA should be prepared for a next generation Giggs. Every time a international game comes round, he'll have a pull or a tweak to deal with. Good for Spurs though, so you boys should be happy, I would be.
Blatter's been criticised by both the British Olympic Association's chairman and Team GB's Chef de Mission (what a stupid ****ing title). Both essentially pointed out that he didn't know what he was talking about and that Bale hadn't been selected because of his lack of fitness at selection time.
Bale seems to take great pride in playing for Wales so I can't see it happening. There were several times last season when he came back out of sorts from international duty because he absolutely runs his socks off for them.
Good to see that the BOA in the shape of Colin Moynihan have put Blatter in his place. At least there is someone with some sense in the higher echelons of international sport as this was fast becoming a witch hunt. Savage & Lineker need to wind their necks in as well... Tossers!!
I think Bale would have relished playing for Team GB, had he been fit for the selection. But he wasn't fit, and he wasn't picked. End of story. Blatter ceased to have any credibility with anyone in football, some while ago.
Just seen the BBC's Dan gRoan ignoring the reasoning given and saying it was still embarrassing for Team GB and the Olympics
Not just limited to football, mate!! And as for BBC journos, we should expect them to jump on any anti-Spurs bandwagon considering how well connected they are to the Spanners and their OS bid!!
So now we know who put the question to Blatter in order to get this reponse - those moronic enablers who think we want three channels of round-the-clock Bollympic coverage for the next three weeks...
From what I remember Bale was one of the leading players talking up team GB, posing in their kit and ironically at the time he was getting stick for it!
No, no - the BBC have decided what the story is, and are sticking to it no matter how much evidence there is to the contrary. Which is why I file them alongside Fox News and CNN when it comes to news broadcasting - because they;re factually challenged, untrustworthy, emotionally manipulative, tabloidesque Isreal apologists who place presentation above journalism. *breathes*
I wrote a piece on this yesterday also regarding the whole pathetic situations: www.tottenhamtodareistodo.blogspot.co.uk Also HBIC, why the criticism directed towards the Blatter journalist? I know they can be rotten little toerags at times but their job is finding a story. It doesn't appear that any quotes have been twisted and he was just asking the question. Blatter just gave him all the answers he was hoping to hear.
For the simple reason there was never a story to begin with so there was no reason to ask the question - whilst Blatter should've been better informed (and kept his answers vague and non-controversial until he had the facts in front of him), by asking such a blatantly leading question the journalist was looking for that answer anyway. With any luck, the story will blow over and a new controversy will take its place - most likely this flag being used to represent South Africa... please log in to view this image
Did the Japanese threaten to walk off when they saw themselves represented by this flag? please log in to view this image
