NB. These Rules will apply to all Points Based competitions run by me. Other competition administrators may prefer to use their own Rules

Points
All horses dead heating will share equally the total points applicable to the positions they jointly occupied.
An extreme example:
3 horses dead heat for 2nd place. These 3 horse jointly occupy 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. In a 16+ runner handicap the total points available = 20+10+5 = 35 points; so they will each earn 35/3 points (*2 if napped). In any other race the total points available = 20+10+0 = 30 points; so they will each earn 30/3 points (*2 if napped).

SP Based Points

All horses dead heating for 1st place will score points = SP/No of horses dead heating. Eg two horses dead heat for first place at odds of 20/1 and 9/2 will earn points of 10 and 2.25 respectively (*2 if napped)

Needs to be some sort of split deal Ron, as happens when you back a horse in a dead heat - you get half the odds.

What you propose above sounds fair and reasonable <ok>
