I think it's you lot who live on another planet, economically it is beneficial to stay in the EU and I think it is appalling that yours and others racism and narrow mindedness will harm mine and future generations forever.
Having established that being in any way left wing is like having measles ie. you have it as a youth and then it clears up - just a few points to consider. Was it socialism which left the UK with a prosperity which was totally dependent on financial services which could blow up at any minute ? Was it socialism which stole industries which belonged to the people and then tried to get the people to buy them back ? In fact most British energy ended up in foreign hands at the same time as Maggie was blabbing on about patriotism. Was it socialism which destroyed Britain's industrial base and lead to the decline, and depopulation, of the north. Should be remembered that cities like Liverpool lost between a quarter and a third of their population in the 80s - hence immigration, which was an attempt to rejuvinate old decaying working class areas. Was it socialism which killed the idea of a mixed economy and Keynesian economics, ideas which worked, and replaced them with the idea of the market as the one and only God ? Was it socialism which deregulated the stock exchange and lead to London becoming the main tax haven of the EU ? Was it socialism which destroyed whole communities in the 80s, from which we have still not recovered now. Was it socialism which lead to such flexible opening hours that it began to kill family life ? In my opinion the answer remains a very firm no to these questions.
