Not a lot of difference between this season and the first. One point more than this time last year but still well ahead of comparable fixtures with Walter.

And probably playing a lot better even in defeat.

Palace away was another well below par effort last season so lets hope for better.

Thanks NZ. Interesting (and reassuring!) that the lowest position for a relegated team from this point onwards in the past 2 seasons is 15th.

Sorry for the disruption in service. Now that the summer holidays are over normal service will be resumed.

In the past two seasons we have got 9 points on each occasion in the last 12 games. That will get us to 39 points. However, last season we got 14 points from the comparable home fixtures remaining and six in the away games. That would give us 50 points this season. In 15/16 in the comparable remaining fixtures we got 9 points at home and three points away, which would give us 42 points.

With our weak midfield (because of missing players) teams have put 2 players on rich and that has worked . i Wanted us to bring in a Striker that had some fire in his belly and spend big on a C/back that could stop the leak at the back. But the board got in Deulofeu .They will try and double up on both of them good luck on that i can see us getting 20 pts or more.I said we would get 53 points and i thnk we could be close to that

Last season we got half our points in the comparable remaining fixtures. I can't see us doing that again - 30 points from a possible 36!

I would be over the moon with a repeat of 20 from 36. It would give us 50 points and our highest Prem total

I agree - and if it were not for injuries and for Everton tapping up Silva I honestly think we would be several points and places better off than we are now. If we got six wins, two draws and four defeats - so 20 points - from games that includes Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Man U all away we would have done brilliantly.

I think the best we can hope for is 7th.
10th is a very realistic target.
..... oooh I said I'd do the West Ham match day thread... better get on with it!!!<yikes><yikes><yikes>

7th and Europa League is "Mission Accomplished" for the squad assembled.
10th or better is a reasonable successful season.
16th or better is an improvement
    17th is a failure
    18th-20th is not an option!!!

Agree with that - but Slytherin had us on course for 18th-20th so avoiding that counts as a reprieve - and good action by Pozzo
