In the last two seasons we have fallen away after Christmas. I won't be making any predictions for a while!
Yes I know we have fallen away. Why do I think I it's different? Better squad, barring injuries, and Chalobah to return, better coach and more effective playing style. I suspect 2-3 recruits in defence in Jan, if the goals against column is too high. I see some computer has us down as 13th at the end with 44 points Liverpool 6th on 67 Everton 7th on 51(!).If we get 60+ points we'll challenge for 6th. The gap between the 'elite' and the rest still persists in all their predictions. Very tiresome.
The problem is injuries, though. Last season the loss of Pereyra had a major impact. Having said that we aren't doing too badly this season with makeshift centre backs. As for the computer forecast it has us gaining only 2 points more than Palace for the rest of the season.
Last season Losing Pereyra hurt this year he cant get in the starting line up plus we have 2/3 centre backs coming back that most of the time would be in the starting 11 Gray has got his 1st so pressure off . .In the mid to long term i think we are only going to be stronger
Funny what you can show with numbers. We are on exactly the same number of points as we were this time last season. Marco Silva has done no better. Against the same teams played so far we are 13 points better off, have scored ten goals more and have a goal difference that is eleven goals better. This is why a team near the bottom want Marco Silva.
True but last season we only got 4 pts from the next 7 games and i think we should get 7+ from the next 7 games.
yes... just that we had terrible finishes over the last two seasons....... mind you our squad now is much better....
