Booked my flight to Mexico City yesterday <yikes> Never flown alone before, apart from to Spain, but there was a property bloke meeting me at the airport. KLM flight changing at Amsterdam both ways. £610 including insurance. Seems decent and about the quickest flight. There are cheaper ones, but they take longer and a lot involve changing in the States. You have to have a visa even if you're not leaving the ****ing airport <grr> My youngest is meeting me at the airport. Probably stay there that night and then head down to the coast to hostel land <laugh>

Anyone been and what am I looking out for, apart from the ****ing obvious? <laugh>

Watch out for the "cartels", they will not appreciate the English sense of humour. Also do not hang around any motorway bridges!

my only advice is that you need to be very careful with Skipol airport and make sure you have enough time to get between the gates o nthe transfer. I have had to walk the length of the ****hole several times due to bad gates

You might be taxiing there for a half hour coming in for example.

I would advise you say you need assistance and get wheeled about frankly.

Been to Mexico, but not Mexico City. Hagglers everywhere, don't pay full price for anything. Don't piss off the drug dealers... They're rather brutal in Mexico.

Generally it is considered a polite greeting as a foreigner if you tell everyone "Tu Madre es una puta" when you greet them.
