Last Wednesday was most enjoyable. Only a couple of people I wanted to see who couldn't make it. It was busy from the off. I wasn't expecting any presents at all. Went for some breakfast before getting to the Cheese at 1.pm. A few people were already there, including Willy the Fish. A good few I hadn't seen for a while turned up. I was intending to have a break at 4 pm, but it didn't happen <laugh> There were c. 100 people there during the course of the day and night. No fanny, unfortunately. Willy fell of his stool and split his head open on the York stone floor, but he didn't even feel it. No more drinks for him after that <laugh> He was the only casualty, though, including me <ok>

Eclectic presents included: bottle of Talisker, bottle of limited edition Macallan in a presentation tin, block of weed fudge, sleeve of Viagra, jar of pickled red cabbage (to go with the hot pot the management produced), a book (Places I Remember), 4 packs of ***s, three pouches of baccy and a pint from everyone in there. I've been drinking it since Wednesday and I've still got 18 in <laugh> Wonder if I'll make the next big one <laugh>

Oh yeah. I had a missed call on my phone from a private number, I listened the the voicemail at about 7 pm and it was the hospital. I called the day after and they were trying to get me in this week for my double knee replacement, but they gave the cancellation to someone else. They wouldn't have operated on me anyway as I've got that stinking cold that's going round. She confirmed it will be early March <yikes>

best of luck in march mate..

sounds like a great party.

Good luck. <cheers>

Just make sure the don't replace your knees with elbows.

I've heard of surgeons putting the left in the right and right in the left and this of course doesn't work at all as the knees are actually suited to the one side only.

very serious so I would say theres a risk there to doing two at once.

how on earth do you get about after two done.

I mean without the bed down stairs!

The surgeon is **** hot. It won't happen.

good good.

What's your plan for this one?

Are you longer in hospital or are you in the rocket powered wheelchair for a while or what do they do?

You still up and down the flaming stairs?

Plan? <laugh> They get you up the day after. I was 2.5 days with the hip. 3 - 5 for this, depending how it goes. Yes I'm up and down stairs, but they know this. He reckons I'll be on crutches for about 6 weeks after the op. Play it by ear after that.
