Went to a funeral yesterday. A lovely bloke who U've known since I started drinking. I know his daughter's as well. Turns out he was the grandad of the **** who glasses Ricky. The Breck boys were going to pay him a visit on Monday. His mum asked me if so knew him and I played daft. I like Lysette, so I managed to get the retribution called off. Just been told he came back here again late afternoon and kicked off again. They called the bizzies and he got arrested at the Grange.

Steely Dan concert on Thursday night at the manc arena, supported by Steve Winwood. I didn't realise his credentials were so good. He was the lead vocalist and guitarist with Spencer Davies aged 14 <yikes> He also performed with Traffic at Woodstock. Watched a couple of concerts over the weekend and they were **** hot. Superb on both keyboards and guitar and a great singer. Should be a great night.

Schedule:

Meet Dean at the Cheese at 11.30 am. Couple there and then into town to meet my BS mate who's sorting the Vimto flavoured 'sweeties'. Couple in town and train into manc. Walk to Wetherspoons on Oxford Road. Couple in there and meet my youngest daughter. From there to Chinatown for a meal. After that, wend our way towards Victoria calling at a few hostelries on the way. Eat one of the sweeties and when that's kicked in, eat the other one. Watch the concert and get a taxi home. Hopefully it all goes smoothly <laugh>

Winwood was in Blind Faith with Clapton, Rick Grech, and Ginger Baker one of the best bands ever.

How many Steeley Dan concerts do you go to a year? Seems like you've always got one coming up.

Winwood sang lead on things like "Keep On Running" and "Gimme Some Lovin'" when he was about 17/18 - an amazingly mature sounding voice for his age.
I never really liked his later, solo work much.
