What a ****ing weekend The bloke from NPower came to fit the new meter last Thursday. The unit phones to say we still have a leak, so caps the gas off. My mate was supposed to have nailed it already. I called him and he said he couldn't get out until Saturday morning. I managed to borrow a couple of fan heaters from the Cheese, but we had no hot water and no cooker. I went to go to bed on Friday night. The mechanism on the handle has been deteriorating for a while, so I normally leave it ajar. I closed it by accident and it wouldn't open. The unit had to get a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to open the door. On Saturday morning, I had to boil a kettle for a shave My mate arrived on Saturday morning (this is the baseball bat man) and managed to isolate the leak to the unit's room. We had to move furniture out as he was going to have to take the floorboards up to get at the pipework. The furniture was left when I bought the house, and moving a chest of drawers revealed a big crack under the window. My mate then ****s off, arranging to come again on Sunday morning to repair the leak. I left him to it as I had to go Baccy Dave's for a shower. I was having a V & T at Dave's when he called to tell me he'd sorted the leak, but destroyed the laminate flooring in the process He's coming back at lunchtime today to put the floorboards back down and reconnect the boiler. It's going to be a big rug for the unit's room now Hopefully, I'll have heat and hot water when I return home tonight, along with the Sunday roast I couldn't have yesterday Don't know what to to about the crack, as it's visible on the outside as well Thanks **** I'm insured
so you've been trying to kill her with a fake gas leak... i knew you wanted rid but thats extreme. Luckily for her the crack in the wall saved her.
