Serious answer - yes Back in the day, I used to drink bitter, but I went to Aston University and bitter at that time in Birm was totally undrinkable. Lager was more bland and so you could get pissed and not throw up whilst doing so. I guess it's more habit now than anything else. I know what I'm getting with Carling, which is a palatable, reasonably priced lager that's medium strength. I do drink cask ales now and again and continental lagers. Don't touch cider.
Have you ever had Bitburger lager on draft, it is ace but difficult to find. Asahi is also good, very dry Japanese lager. They probably drank the world's entire stock after last nights game
