It's the BIG concert on the 29th. Can't ****ing wait. The Doobies supporting Steely Dan at the O2 Arena. Well half of Steely Dan, as Walter Becker died the day before I went into hospital for the hip replacement RIP. Eldest flying back from Dubai for it and the youngest is going too. So pleased we all have the chance to watch them together. We're in the Gods though, so should be fun on my crutches <laugh>

Few doobies of your own and you'll be able to float up. <ok>

I'm currently recruiting for a Lead Oncologist for a biotech in Cambridge. I had an application from a consultant oncologist with the NHS. When I spoke to him, I told him that the maximum salary for the role would be unlikely to be much over £70,000. He explained that his NHS salary (after 25 years) was £85,000, but he doubled this with private patients. However, money wasn't an issue. He wants a new challenge in industry and has had enough of giving his all in such a difficult environment. [HASHTAG]#sad[/HASHTAG]

Recruit me for a £70,000 job, I'll wing it for a bit.

70k for an Oncologist sounds pretty low to me actually.

They would probably make 4 times that much in the US. Especially if they were the lead oncologist...

...of course you know who ultimately pays that ridiculous salary.

The job is with a biotech and it's more for a post-doc academic rather than a specialist. The candidate I referred to is on £170,000 and he's a PhD and a medical doctor - FRCP

people burn out mate... people actually die on you compared to working for a bio tech company where you research.
