She could do 3 years out there and if she is not daft with her money she will come back with a deposit for a house and enough for a PHD.
I know a few who live out there. The money is great and of course tax free, but it's easy to be suckered in by the plastic lifestyle out there, and everything is heinously expensive. If she's sensible and puts the cash away then for a couple of years it'd be OK, but if she likes a bevy *cough* she could easily and I mean easily, piss most of it away.
£36k sounds pretty poor for over there tbh mate, so I'd expect a couple of free flights to be lobbed in, she could always ask if they weren't on the table, it's a fairly standard perk over there.
They have a thing called champagne Friday in a lot of the hotels, basically an afternoon piss up with drinks all in, costs a couple of hundred a head, and the ex pats are all over it.
Tell her to go for it mate, it'll be a life experience and she's the ideal age. If she hates it she can always bail.
I wish I got to travel more when an adult fresh out of Uni and free to roam. Stupid me got married within two years and got stuck in South Carolina raising a family. She needs to take these opportunities to move around, experience new things, travel new places, have sex with Welsh pirates, see new sights and learn about new cultures. Once she gets attached and settled it will be harder to experience those things.
She's going She has been there on holiday before and knows some people over there. Not sure what to think, but she seems to have it clear in her head, so it's her shout. In other news, I've had to bite my lip and ask Rob the builder to do a job for me. The upper past of my soil stack has come away from the wall He doesn't want paying, apparently.
You're home safe. Talking about Dubai, really ****ing tempting. Plenty of Engineering jobs out there, would save **** loads.
