The Grange is a bit too far on crutches and you can't sit at the bar, so there's also a transportation issue. It's a world of ****
No ****ing chance Someone might take it on. As the only pub in an area that size, someone should be able to make money out of it.
I've never used it but my son loves them, his experience is that they are very nice cars also very clean and the drivers are polite. This is not the usual taxi experience.
To be serious for a moment... Given your description of the place, I'm not surprised it struggled. Anyone taking it on would have to charge more realistic prices and make it seem more welcoming to customers other than the current regulars. I know you're probably laying it on a bit thick for the comedic value, but it sounds like the place casual visitors would quickly get out of when the usual argy-bargy starts to kick off.
I have always felt that Denice didn't spend enough time behind the bar herself. She has a great personality and there are noticeably more people there when she works. She's also saving on wages as well. I told her that on numerous occasions, as did others, but she never did. I guess time will tell where it all goes now.
Ever thought about owning a pub yourself RHC? You could probably get the Carling extra cheap that way? Shorter commute to work. And when you flash your tits at people you can tell them it's part of the job.
I think she'd have saved fortune in till robbery if she would do the job. She prob had the gas bill due to someone scamming and all. Or just didnt do the books right
Making a profit out of an old school alehouse relying solely on 'wet' sales is nigh on impossible these days, hence the reason they fold by the dozen. Enterprise hovered loads of them up, take £50k of some poor sap, and then watch them fail, and punt it onto the next one.
