Anyway, Saturday was an anti-climax. She texted to cancel on Saturday morning. She watched the Waeeington match at the Grange on Saturday night and got pissed. It did materialise that:

1. It wasn't an excuse. I confirmed this by a direct question

2. She's split up wit her short-term boyfriend and has been drinking more than she should over the last 10 days.

I didn't push her and played it chilled. As far as I can tell, it's still on, but the fact that she's now free could actually pose a complication, for obvious reasons. I'll just play it by ear

 

A cunning plan, Tobes, but I wasn't able to carry it out, sadly. I'll certainly bear it in mind for the next potential window of opportunity
