    In other news, my boiler packed up last Thursday. It went from intermittent hot water to none at all. The heating was still working. Baseball bat mate came to have a look at it on Friday morning and told me it was the diverter valve and the diaphragm, but he didn't feel happy taking it on. He called the company who installed the thing in the first place (before my time there) and the bloke arranged to come that afternoon.

    He got there bang on 1 pm. The unit called me at 20 past to say it was going to cost £160, but said he's split payment over 2 months, so I told her to let him get on with it. It worked perfectly when I got home. Apparently, so my mate said, the parts could have cost up to £100. I asked how long he was there for his £160 and she said he didn't leave until 5 pm <yikes> I call that value for money. I called him the next morning and he arranged to come into the Cheese 20 minutes later for his payment. His face was a picture when he walked in at 20 to 12 and there were about 15 people already in with the front door still shut <laugh>

    the service guys have got very good i think.

    I think the way things have gone with gas (presume your is) has been ok. The service side has acted more professional and focused

    but you've ruined him now....
