After losing Rich if we was offered 48pts at the start of the season who if any would have said "No im putting money with the bookies that we will get more " ?

    Probably play at Newcastle now..

Seems to have got ahead of Willmott as 4th choice.

Highest position and points after 25 games since we returned to the Premier League.
We are also five points better than our previous best on comparative matches.
We have six more away matches and the best we have done in the comparable games is six points in 15/16. In 16/17 we got no points, and last season we got one point. We have got better points total than the last two seasons already for comparable results.

We can lose the next five games and still equal the highest number of points gained after 32 matches.
In the comparable games we are seven points up on our previous best. We are two points up at home and three points away.
My guess is that the best relegated team this season will probably only get 36 points.

We have five more away games. In those games in the previous three seasons we have got four points. That is four points in 15 games.

Hopefully we'll get four points out of those last five away days: 3 at Huddersfield and perhaps a draw at Chelsea... anything else would be a bonus.

At the start of the season there was a real worry about where our goals were going to come from. We hadn't signed a striker, and that seemed an absolute requirement. We also needed to shore up our defence.
With nine games left we have scored more and conceded less in the comparative games, though not at the same stage in the season. We had conceded fewer goals in 15/16:

Of course, we still have Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea away, and Arsenal at home.

    15/16 29-30
    16/17 33-48
    17/18 39-47
    18/19 41-41

This is so brilliant, NZ. Thanks, once again. I love comparing data myself, and this is a real treat each week.
