Caught the ****er out. Can we get a mod to kick him off the board
Well that was underwhelming. For most of the first half I thought we'd carried on seamlessly from the way we finished last season - ****e. Better in the second half, but let's not pretend that retaining this title will be the storming march it was to win it. Other teams are improving, and we're not improving, imo. That said, if Mini me and Keita (eventually) can stamp their places in the first team, then it's not all doom.
I keep saying, you can't afford to stand still.
The other teams have had a whole season to look at you, play you and work you out.
So we're going into this season exactly the same as last, we need someone (or someones) to add something new to the team. An extra dynmanic to slightly alter the way you play.
The same happened to Spurs and Poch and look how awful they went, resorting to Jose.
think we got undone by two of the kids today, williams for their goal and brewster missing the pen, it's just youth and inexperience so can't blame them too much ... more to a full game than that, but that was essentially the story
agree about the midfield, i think ideally we need 3 in personally, one fw, one mf, one cb, all at the same stage in their career, so mid-20s, young but not kids, to provide proper competition and make us a touch more dynamic

Can’t really take much from it. Team only had 2 45 minute games to prep for it.
Played well in parts, looked a lot better against a packed defence when minamino and Keita came on.
when we go 1-0 up that workmanlike midfield works well. Go behind and all of a sudden teams sit back, force the ball wide and have 6 in the middle to head the ball away.

wow, will put that down to being a bit pissed off.
reina is utter garbage now, Adrian truly earned his league winners medal this season - he was outstanding in those opening half dozen games or so (and won us the super cup).
Oh come on now, he had a fairytale season with us, true. Happy he got a medal too. But he's Brad Jones with go-faster stripes, imo. We can do better, and we must - Allison picks up injuries. Just calling it as I see it.
Very much doubt that. If he was arrogant in any way Klopp would not have him anywhere near the 1st team.
