It would appear there are still some ****s out there www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/oct/19/judge-hillsborough-families-conspiracy-theories?CMP=twt_gu
What a ****! This goes to show the level of total ignorance that still pervades in this country. I wonder if he'll be implicated somehow because of the ruling? Makes you ****ing wonder.
What a sad old tosser he is to bring the Bradford fire(and its victims)into the fight for justice by the Hillsborough families.
I heard that on 5 Live this morning in a semi asleep state and just assumed that it was yet another attention seeker who had sent a text in - had not realised it was Lord Popplewell. What a horrible, horrible man. Suffice to say that both were terrible, terrible tragedies in football stadia where innocent people lost their lives attending a football match. The similarity pretty much ends there.
Cheers for the info from the guys above but I wanted this thread to be info and support and not to start a huge argument. Please don't take offence to me deleting the posts.
Oliver Popplewell deserves both the anger and digust heaped upon him by making his statement in his letter to the The Times. The Times itself, owned by News International, deserves to be castigated for publishing the letter. That a cover-up (and it must be remebered that a cover-up requires a conspiricy) took place after Hillsborough has already been accepted. The issue therefore is not the invention of a conspiricy theory it is the identification of those who ordered and enacted that conspiricy. Popplewell therefore has his facts wrong. In both parliament and in the media in general the families of the 96 have been praised repeatedly for the dignity with which they have sought answers to their questions and justice for their lost relatives. Popplewell therefore not only gets his facts wrong but also presents ideas that run totally contrary to all decent accepted opinion.
Just seen the petition link posted on the biggest United site in the world. Everyone is with you on this one guys.
I've just read a tweet from Steve Potherham MP saying that evil right wing biggoted **** Kelvin McKenzie has been invited to give evidence to Parliaments Culture,Media & Sports Select Commitee. What's the betting the odious **** wont have the guts to attend ?
