No chip mate, just want equality in the game, such as Utd players surrounding the ref after he gave Newcastle a pen at OT and not getting done, yet LFC are getting done for a similar thing when Spearing was sent off at Fulham.
Again, that's totally different. You Scousers have a strange urge to compare everything to one of Suarez's many misdemeanors. The reason Suarez would be banned is because he's alleged to have repeatedly used a racist term to Evra. It's a question of whether the term was racist and whether he realised it when he used it.
So whether or not 'Arry swore into a live TV camera or at a press conference the word used was offensive. Your not doing a very good job of deflecting your manager's antics, but nice try.
Ill agree with you there as I personally hate it when players surround the ref and the players should be told that if they surround the ref then each player will be booked so i didnt see the utd incident agaisnt newcastle but they should be punished for that behavior.
Not really it's just that due to the current Suarez witch hunt (and it'll be someone else next week in fairness) it makes comparisons relevant. You can't deny that there are serial divers in every team (you lot had Klinsman for ****s sake and Modrics effort on Sunday was a classic ) but Fergie has orchestrated a very successful campaign against a player who has destroyed his defence two games in a row. Oh and in the interest of balance Suarez hasn't done himself any favours by going down way too much since he arrived in England.
It's only offensive if you're a nun, yeesh! Don't watch TV after 9 o'clock, eh? Suarez's racism case is a lot more complicated, as I said. With regards to a more reasonable comparison, take Rooney's swearing in to the camera. ITV or whoever was broadcasting it get in trouble for that and the FA in turn would get in trouble were they not to take action. It was also inappropriate for young children who were watching. Does that apply to Harry? No. If Rooney swore behind closed doors infront of adult journalists would he still be punished? No.
Plenty of opposition fans struggling to string an argument together here. @ The Boss- every time we watch the highlights of a game, every paper we read, every website we visit regarding Liverpool (hyperbole of course but a significant amount) slates Suarez and our team as if there is some kind of hangover from the Benitez era. Suarez makes the same gesture Rooney, Cole and Neville have all made (none of whom were punished) and is charged. When David Beckham swore at abusive England fans against Portugal, the newspaper we shall not name came out with the headline 'Lay Off Becks'. Suarez gets kicked from pillar to post, is accused of diving all over the place, can never win an honest free kick, and yet when Modric does so he is commended for what is seen as clever play. Our team surrounds the referee after an unfair red card on Jay Spearing and we have a charge of improper conduct, meanwhile Man United only the week before escape punishment. Hernandez is shown in print to have used the same word Suarez allegedly used, and there is no issue. Meanwhile John Terry is caught on camera (remember there is no proof re Suarez so he could deny everything if he was dishonest) using racist and abusive language and has yet to face charge and is backed by the England manager. Rooney shows violent conduct against Montenegro (their equalizer cost me £800 by the way so i definitely have an agenda here) and the FA support him. Jay Spearing was red-carded for the same offense at which point Kenny steps in and bemoans the stance of the FA. The reason Pulis etc supported him was that if Liverpool appeal, then Spearing's ban may be increased, meanwhile the FA are defending Rooney for something far worse. Is that enough double standards for you to comprehend the point of this article? The reason Redknapp's situation is mentioned as it smacks of the preferential treatment Hodgson got from the media which is incredibly infuriating when everyone else at the club is being slowly assassinated by the British Press.
Suarez is criticised for being a serial cheat, that includes diving, exaggerating and asking for bookings on a regular basis.Ronaldo was vilified by fans all the same, as was Drogba who has since improved. I'm not saying Spurs players haven't ever been guilty of the same but saying that Modric should be treated the same as Suarez for going down easily in the area is a nonsense. For the record, I didn't like the way Modric went down easily. There was contact, it was a foul but there's no way that it sent him to the ground but he's certainly not the only player to do it. When's the last time you saw someone stumble in the box? It hasn't happened for a long time because the smallest touch sends a player flying.
Sister Vicious? Sounds like I work in Max Moseley's basement! No, I wasn't offended by it. Suarez was inciting the crowd and behaving inappropriately on the football pitch.
Bollocks,Suarez as pointed out by Skrtels Nips used a gesture that has previously been used by 3 England internationals that were never punished. Is that racist victimisation against a foreign player or just a witchunt by the authorities on Suarez?
I think I must've missed that. When did they happen? For the record I do think Suarez's match ban was harsh. I thought the FA should've charged him with inciting the crowd and give him the same as Adebayor got, a £25k fine and a suspended ban for if he does it again.
Funny how nobody was offended by these yet are mortified by Suarez's middle finger. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
The Rooney one's where he clearly pointed to his own eyes, or is this a different one? David Beckham's was aaaages ago. I'm not sure the FA can do much about Brooklyn(?), it's a bit early to start giving him suspensions and it doesn't look like he's on a football pitch I'd agree with you about Cole, though.
I'm comparing 'offensive' hand gestures/words and the variation in the FA's attitude and subsequent punishment(if any)due to who it is thats caused the offence. Its obvious the FA have it in for Liverpool at the moment(and Suarez in particular),Kenny is right to speak up when he thinks theres an injustice to his club or players yet he gets slated for it.
Paranoid much? You're attempting to compare a player racially abusing another player with a manager swearing in an un-televised post-match press conference. That's clearly ludicrous.
