Hayes given a 2 year contract why? We can only hope another team comes in for Thompson as the pair have been crap together this season. Not surprised Ugwu has gone but Max and Lynch was a surprise.

Not shocked by any of those that he has let go - gozie and max not good enough, sellers had a few good cameos but never showed himself as a started. As for lynch i feel for him, but im presuming ainsworth has someone else lined up.

As for those staying, im pleased to see bloomfield hayes and bean all offered deals, woods clause in the contract is an interesting one but hopefully he can regain last seasons form. Having said im pleased for hayes, I question why it is a 2 year deal - He would probably be useful for another year but another 2 is optamistic. Im hoping his wages are reasonable otherwise we could live to regret that one

You would have thought Ainsworth had learned his lesson after giving Thompson a 2 year contract which means we're stuck with him again next season. Could be a long hard season as we know Ainsworth is stubborn and will stick the the 2 misfiring oldies and substitute both of them in most ganmes they start. :headbang: :headbang: :steam:

That squad looks good to me, ok we need a keeper or 2. Someone to replace Gozie (this will be the big one, get it right and it could be playoffs, get it wrong and we will struggle for goals). Plus some creativity in midfield (maybe Paris on a permanent deal).
We have a solid back four, Sido, Stewart, Pierre, JJ
Good midfield, Harriman, Bean, O'Niens, wood,
Professional forwards, Hayes, Thompson.

I agree with everyone that these two upfront don't have the goals, but either one of them with a finisher would work. Harriman and woods form will need to pick up, but it the basis of a mid table team and with a few quality additions it could be playoffs again.

Looks like Greeny might be in luck Pompey goalkeeper tonight Ryan Allsop signed from Bournemouth on emergency 7 day loan its not 3 weeks ago he was trying to keep Pompey out of the play offs

So Northampton looking for their 17th manager this decade. Sounds like a stable job for someone <yikes>

Gareth Ainsworth off to Blackburn?

Having a quick look on thier forum they dont seen impressed by the idea of gaz in charge - Whilst i would say they underestimate the jobs hes done with a very limited budget I can see why they wouldnt be so keen

Given hes a lifelong blackburn fan and has previously said he would love to manage the club this could be a genuine risk of losing him!

I don't take any notice of these next manager odds as they are a bookies dream to get punters to back anyone whose odds shorten. However, I do have a nasty feeling about this. The silence/lack of denial, plus Gareth's declared love of Blackburn, point towards Wycombe trying to agree compensation before making any announcement. Pessimistic but hoping I'm wrong. However, If he doesn't go, I hope it's Gareth's decision, not Blackburn's.
