Can I say whilst I criticise Mick all the time and his style of play infuriates me partly because I think he has the potential to be a top top manager if he wasn't so stubborn and took risks I don't think I have ever said he can't take us forward. I still believe under Mick we'll be a safe pair of hands this season and if we're not I haven't got a clue what is in store for us as a footy club!!

The trouble is when this style of football isn't getting results there aren't many positives to take add to that the amount of money you spend on a game, it makes things seem alot worse than they are.

Football is an entertainment business, that's why we as fans go to the footy to be entertained. As Ipswich fans I doubt we remember the times we finished bottom half of the table in the top league (that's what we and Mick are aiming for right?) or this division you remember the entertaining games, the magic moments, the glory, the last derby we won, when we beat Arsenal 1-0, the playoff race with Royle in charge, the 3-2 win over Sheff Utd, the win over Inter Milan, the 00/01 season, the 2000 play offs, the UEFA cup truimph, the FA cup win and I think Mick doesn't get this it's all about the results and where you finish at the end of the season, which I'm not arguing with but it's these other moments that won't happen with that attitude and these are the truly special ones in football.

I'm sure you'd ask most Wigan fans would you prefer to have won the FA cup or kept in the PL to fight relegation for another season, I bet most would say win the FA cup, under Mick something like that would never have happened because staying in the league would've been priority

There's a lot to be said for this and in all the emotion a very level headed comment but (there's always a but) creativity skill etc doesn't just come from spending loads of money on players (look under Keane) it also comes from how the manager wants his teams to play and the type of player he gets and and lets go or doesn't give a chance

Completely agree, although 1 thing I disagree with and would concern me, I don't think many managers could do well with this squad, I think this team would struggle without Mick as manager.

I will say Mick puts himself under a hell of a lot of pressure to get results due to at present the absolute rubbish we watch! Please sort out the left side asap.

That said when he was doing well and getting results last season he was still getting slated which I just found silly!

True the style of play may be not great right now nor was it last season, but the fact he was getting slated game after game last season when we were top 6 or 8th/ 9th was beyond belief to be honest.

This season the stick he gets I can go with a lot more. I went to Reading live where we were abysmal, but really shouldn't have lost. I saw us deserve 3 points v Fulham on the tv, again the style of play I cannot pretend was good but the workrate/ commitment was first class. I sadly only saw the final 12 minutes v Norwich due to being at Nice airport and it didn't look particularly good.

Over to you Mick/ Evans, lets have at least two more in come August 31 and pick up some good loans.

Spanish it's surely gotta be results first entertainment second? Under Jewell I found us very entertaining to watch at times but clearly results spoke for themselves.

I find West Ham booing after a 1-0 win under Alladyce utterly pathetic too. He's done a good job for that lot.

Playing with this team I just do not know where the next lot of points are going to come from! <yikes>

We are 17th in the table already and yes I know we were in the same position this time last year but the big difference to last year is that most of the teams have now worked out a plan to nullify us! We have simply got to change it or we will be in the big brown stuff without a paddle!

Exactly Warky!! Mick is not tactically clever enough to change things and to be honest, its either his way or the highway!!
Westy, results first but watch us this season, we will play garbage football and not get points either, he has to go!!

I have little faith right now away at a very fluid Derby side but that could change Spanish haha.

Looks a tough fixture though surely!?
