I'd take the 70m for staying in this league over a cup. A cup run will happen when it's ready. We clearly didn't have the second string to compete this year (ref: Luton) and the games came at hard times for us. the best thing about cups are they don't go anywhere. You get another go next year.
Actually, having said that I just remembered we couldn't get past a non-league Luton Town at home so we probably saved ourselves from being humiliated twice.
Considering we hadn't won a league game since Dec 19th, then yes, the three points to hopefully make sure we survive this season so we can have the depth of squad to mount a more sustained cup challenge next season Based purely on current circumstances/league positions.
I didn't ask that though did I? I asked if he would honestly rather have 3 points than a cup final and a 50/50 chance of still getting those 3 points.
I guess, but it's not a question of one or the other. I think we're far more likely to get to a cup final under hughton than lambert and it will happen when it happens. I don't see the rush. Is it to get parity with Swansea?
Good point. Lambert had a cavalier attitude he'd gamble games away, Hughton is more of a strategist his steady but his calculating.
I'm not interested in parity with Swansea. They are a brilliant outfit and have done brilliantly. One thing I don't understand is people being bitter about Swansea being the media darlings..I'd rather they were than us. All that leads to is speculation your top players and manager will be leaving every summer. No thanks.
There is a strange rivalry between us because we were promoted in the same batch of clubs, it's not a geographical rivalry it's one purely based on performance. QPR for an example are a lot easier to dislike but if you look on this forum there is plenty of people who hate them if it was Stoke or Fulham I don't think we'd dislike them so intensely but because they were promoted along with us and Swansea it fuels the fire a lot more.
Sorry Northants that's bollocks, they're hated so much because an awful majority of their fans are arseholes!
I'm perfectly aware of the rivalry mate but would class it more as a respectful competition than anything else. I'll concede defeat gracefully and accept Swansea as being a small level above us. All in my opinion of course. Still we always seem to turn them over lol.
It's my take on the situation and your well entitled to your opinion. Yes we dislike their fans but there is always a competitive edge between the three clubs that get promoted.
Thanks to everyone who offered me a link but I found a good one in the end! Shame Bradford couldn't win, but they were completely outclassed by Swansea unfortunately.
It's nothing personal but I just can't stand the fans, management, ownership, transfer policy, players, attitude, stadium, training ground, tea lady etc.
You're complaining because people disagree with you? We're all entitled to own a opinion and it just happens on this occasion that people disagree with you.
