    Dodging the question.

Proper supporters follow the club they're drawn to and love, whether that be because it's there local club, their family supports the club, or because they saw them on TV and were excited by them. As long as they follow the club through thick and thin I have no issue with them. That's completely different to someone who just decides to support the most successful team at the time and doesn't bother when they aren't doing very well, however you Hull fans seem to like to clump anyone not born in the club's city together, just because that's where you draw your support from.

The fact that you think watching a team on tele and liking the way they play is a good enough reason to support them says it all. I thought the UAE played some nice stuff in the Olympics, what do you think about not supporting Hull or England but instead Al-Ahly and the UAE?

International football is different from club football, but I'll play along anyway and say that if you instantly fell in love with the UAE and followed them through thick and thin, travelling to go to games etc. then that's your choice.

Why is it? You support the country you're from why not the club? Do you not think that's weird, just to support Al-Ahli because you like the way they play if you're from Hull/Leeds?

There's always choice involved in supporting a club, I support Leeds because my Dad does. If I'd gone for the local club route I'd be a Celtic supporter, but I never had any interest in supporting Celtic, despite how much more I'd be able to brag about trophies etc.

I say the day people are only supposed to support the club based where they come from is the day footballers can only play for that club. And that's the difference between club and international football, clubs represent more than just the city they're based in.

I don't think that's a valid statement. You should support your local team or else most Clubs would go broke due to most fans choosing to support the Mancs, Liverpool, Chelski, Arsenal, Barcelona etc etc. The whole point of football (from a fans' point of view) is representing your City/Town and gaining recognition. Players should be able to be bought from wherever and come from wherever, but fans shouldn't just go round supporting Glory. It would ruin football completely.

hull 3,000 crowds in the 90s. 22,000 2010 that makes about 80% of you glory hunters.

Lets be honest, this bitterness directed towards Leeds United is driven purely by the fact no one born outside of Hull would actually think of supporting Hull City, whereas Leeds have a vast, diverse fanbase made up of people who, for whatever reason, chose to follow Leeds United, with celebrities such as Russell Crowe, Stefan Edberg etc amongst their ranks.
Basically it just boils down to jealousy and downright envy.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, local club or glory hunting plastic, that's life, **** happens, deal with it <ok>

Essex, I don't think you are being completely fair to Hull,
Ok, we have celebs like Mel B, Paxman, Colin Montgomerie, Moyles, Vinney Jones and Nassar Hussain bla bla bla, BUT.... Hull have a famous fan as well...

If Leeds fans who live all across the World are considered plastic (as they don't live around the corner from the ground), then I say this.......

The majority of the Hull celebrity fans are a cotton / polyester mix

How did you manage to change the topic from talking about fans should support their local team to Glory Hunters?

And BTW, unless you hadn't noticed, we used to play at Boothferry Park, moved to the KC in 2002 which also had an upgrade in capacity so that's probably a reason for an increase of attendance. The Plastic Hull fans were the ones who turned up for the Premier League seasons and then disappeared again ever since we came back down.

Where's the glory in being midtable in the bottom division? Which is where we were when we moved to the KC. I see you've conveniently missed out our good attendances between those periods, even before we started to move through the leagues, back to the 2nd division, which is our rightful place in the football pyramid.

    Basil Brush has more credibility.
