That's rather the point of the chant.

It seems that the irony of the majority of our chants is lost on most on here.

    Actually...

The Leeds lads who went in the 60s-80s are the ones who got the club much of its edgy image off the pitch, which helped to attract many of our out of town legion of fans, whose attendance has always meant our club has more income than most around it and has allowed us the privilege of a big stadium, training ground, transfers and wages (when our chairmen ****ing permit them anyway). They also helped to create the intimidating atmosphere which still exists for the big games to this day, and as per the cliche, is as good as a goal's advantage for the players sometimes.

As just a recent example: when 'WACCOE' was sung by all four sides of Elland Road against QPR in the 2010-11 season, their team just crumbled under the sheer noise the Leeds fans were making, and Max Gradel pummeled in his second goal. Don't tell me the fans don't have a part to play in lifting the team and affecting performances.

Fans can also elect their representatives on the club board of directors when possible, which means everyone has their own small influence upon club policy, which is obviously a factor in determining success and failure, and anyone can stand for such a position if they have the motivation.

    Powerful people us supporters. :)

100 years of bitterness grinding away at you ay,its no wonder your the bitterest fans in football, and beating us at Elland rd was as good as it gets for you lot ay.Bit mean of your club not having an open top bus tour.

modman-I can see your fans have never inspired your team to great things,so it will be hard for you to understand those who have.<ok>

I wouldn't say it's bitterness at all because if we haven't won trophies, it's not something we've experienced and therefore don't really crave winning one; therefore no bitterness. Leeds last won a Trophy how long ago now?

Yes, you were a good side in History, but you really need to wake up and realise that it's 2012 now and your Club has gone to ****. Too many Leeds fans still asleep to the modern day game.

Every club, even Franchise FC, have history in the game. Ours isn't prestigious like some others.

We've still achieved things in the game and taken part in events that changed football.

Are we bitter? Are we ****!

Very true. It just so happens that Newco Leeds' history is a lot shorter than most other clubs
