Great to see Colo rewarded for a great season. Parker greatly over rated, reminds me of Wilkins, any way but forward.

Hopefully the Argentina manager will take note! I'd love for Colo to get his shirt back witht hem because he had one before he joined us at a bad time.

    Haha,

He signed it just above her arse, but who wouldnt let him!! It was canny funny cos he was in the toilet before and lyndsey just waited like some sort of perv outside the toilets!!
He was injured and didnt play but we asked him what his injury was and he said he had a "tight groin" haha
Then when we left there was a bus load of fans just pulled into the services so he got mobbed after we left him

Obviously its just the players choices but it is nice to see some other "types" of player rather than just the superstars making the team. The likes of Parker, Baines, Walker have all had cracking seasons. Pleased that someone like Parker is recognised as he's been first class. Teams needs all types of players and as Deschamps said, they need water carriers. He was even better last year for West Ham as he was scoring too, but he has been superb in doing the likes of Modric, Bale, Lennon, VDV etc dirty work. Those guys get the front page slot but they'd be nowhere without his graft. Unselfish lad who has been fantastic for England also.

I never like awards as you can never please everyone and to be honest the balance is nearly always wrong for me. They always concentrate on the attacking side of the game and attacking players. You rarely see defenders in for world or european player of the year despite them being every bit as good as the likes of messi, ronaldo in their own way. Same when folk discuss the best player of all time. Its always Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo (fat one) and so on. Never Beckenbauer or Baresi.

    Rant over.

Warm pouch, I agree with your sentiment. In our recent winning run it's been Cisse, Ben Arfa and now Cabaye who have made the headlines for their goals. But in that same time we've conceded just 1 goal in 6 games. That's as much down to a disciplined back 5 and unselfish work rate from the likes of Jonas, Guthrie, Tiote & dare I say Perch. Yes the 'quality' and 'class' come from the likes of Ben Arfa & Cisse and they are th 'match winners'. But that defensive quality has been equally amazing and important for us.

Ah yes my bad, the keepers get a raw deal too. I think of the big dane when we lost that 12 point lead, he was every bit as influential as Mr Cantona.

apparently pat jennings has won aswell, him and shilton won it, both in the 70s, like you say you have named one time when a keeper could have won it, am sure theres loads more,

Joe Hart has had a fantastic season. its not just the media, every club in the country would take him if they could. He has it all. Personally I'd rate Krul as the better shot stopper but all round Hart is a bit ahead. Particularly with the ball at his feet which is important in the modern game. I'd have picked Krul, but Hart wouldn't be far away. I'd have went for Krul because I think he has been more crucial to Newcastles season than Hart has to City's. People suggest the likes of Al Habsi but they haven't even been in the same league. Hart and Krul's sticky moments this season can be counted on one hand. Crosses wise I haven't seen much flapping from Hart. The odd one like any keeper.

I'm glad England have a long term solution to what was starting to become a problem for the first time in our history.

Warm Pouch - agree, both are very good, young 'keepers. And it's very easy to be biased based on what you see week-in, week-out. Krul has been fantastic, especially with vital saves. But think you're right about Hart's overall game. Real pity Krul isn't English - that would be fantastic competiton for our No.1.
