Can't argue with the red card handed down to Colo. Don't think it was malicious, as he has never shown that kind of form before. If you look at it again, he had his face turned away, but that does not get away from the fact that he was reckless and could have caused serious damage to Suarez had he connected properly.

In the circumstances, it would appear that BUFC won't be appealing, which is completely correct.

Did any Pool fans think however that Sterling was a little lucky to stay on the pitch, not only yesterday but also against Everton? I don't know what powers of pursuasion Stevie G has, when he comes over to speak to the referee, but whatever he says seems to work.

Anyway, a good game, with two cracking goals. <ok>

erm, no and no. The everton game was disgraceful for their players trying to unfairly influence the referee.

Yesterday, I did wonder if it was a booking at the time but would like to see it again as have not seen many replays of it

Are you having a laugh? lol, you do know you have a certain Mr Steven Gerrard esq in your side don't you?

I've heard it all now.

Some of the experts have said Coloccini was cowardly, Pardew said Coloccini isn't that sort of player. I agree with both opinions. However he deserved the red card. There will be very few that will deny that.

With Sterling, Gerrard showed why he is a great captain.

He was right in there to defend his young team mate.

Which is looking to influence the referee, an act that Traore thinks is a disgrace.

Sterling was clumsy and reckless and a bit over enthusiastic, the most he should have got was a yellow. Coloccini knew what he was doing and was cowardly, I don't think he is malicious.

its very clear to me that

a) colocinni is a dirty player who's actually got form and the linesman immediately called red.

b) this has nothing to do with gerrard or sterling

c) yes sterling should have been red carded v everton

d) sterling had a kick out at someone yesterday and could have gone as well...

e) sterling can play for england. its a well known PHACKT that players like scholes rooney and others get away with murder as refs don't send england players off. stelring is benefiting form being the new england star

That's a yellow. Not malicious going for the ball, a bit of studs showing possibly but the trailing legs gets him as well. How about RvP on Sagna the other day as well!! What did Sagna do or say to him! <laugh>

It's a reckless challenge as he's not in control of his body & just clatters Cisse, studs first on the top of his boot.

He could have easily seen red for that.

The little **** is getting away with far too much. An attempt for the ball maybe, but totally over aggressive and late. That could have seriously hurt Cisse.

It was an awful challenge.

Yellow card, not a red. For colo, the ball had gone and he still goes after stuarez studs up and extends the leg. The red you are on about is Sterling kicking out, that should have been one.

Erm, perhaps someone needs to remind you that it is one the legitimate roles of a captain to intercede on behalf of his team.

Yeah mate, I was sat about 30 foot away from him 'legitimately interceding on behalf of his team', when he whispered in 'our Marks' ear in a derby a few years back.

I'm talking in general. The little **** has a bad attitude. He cries, dives and is overly aggressive. You should get shot of him for the first good price you can get.

Haven't a clue what you're on about, but it doesn't alter the truth of my statement.
If you don't like him- fair enough, say so- but my point was that he has every right to speak up for his players if the ref is about to punish them. And that point still stands.
