What you said was that the fa obviously don't think it was a foul. I only remember one moment in 90 minutes where I thought "oh ****" and that was Mitrovic in. The second half. Every save our keeper made was comfortable except that one. I'd hardly call that creative! Cool had a sharp chance in the first few mins from a dead ball but fluffed his lines. I still didn't feel threatened. The referee didn't change the game as it was a foul. It probably wasn't a red card (but the ref doesn't have the benefit of replays. At the match I thought red all day long but after the replay I am not so sure) you were completely toothless except for one Mitrovic chance. Everything else was long range hopeful rather than created opportunities

Some serious beel doing the rounds on here from the mackems. You got a horrible, dirty win handed to you on a plate by a referee still in nappies. Come on here a brag about that, rub our faces in it that we were cheated.

Don't come over here trying to claim a noble, deserved victory where the best team won. I'd revel in the fact if we got some **** stain of a decision to beat you. I wouldn't paint a different picture and then argue that scenario, it just takes away from how horrible your win was and we all know getting three points when they're undeserved is the best type of win there is.

Did you really need to start the abuse though Marcus? I mean I'm ok with but for all you know GCB could be a 10 yr old lad. Furthermore Whitey and Indy are up in arms about the name calling, you are kinda weakening their position somewhat.

Now lets all join hands, have a sing song and just be friends. Who's with me?

So Colback with a chance from 6 yards, penalty area to himself isn't a clear cut chance? Admittedly it was on his right foot but still a massive chance.

Reasonable? In his nth incarnation? The problem is with being abusive in a friendly manner, much like sarcasm, isn't always crystal clear written on a forum.

    P.s. you slag!

I'm both hurt and upset. I might tag BRB into this response.

I know you are up for the sing song aren't you? What do you want to sing? As long as it doesn't have the number 6 involved it has a chance.

Any which way you argue this the ref had a major impact on the game, the Red card made a difference as did his baffling inability to see any Cattermole foul as a Yellow, the bit where he gave him a final warning was just beyond a joke, it's now over and done so time to focus on the next matches and chalk this one up to history, Makems get to enjoy this moment but we will see come May who has the last laugh.

Cattermole has been given more wrong bookings and sending offs then any other player that I can ever recall. I honestly didn't see him commit one foul that warranted a yellow card, but was still shocked that he didn't get one. That tackle on Colback was a fair one and should never have been a free kick.

Fair? excessive force that causes a player to leave the stadium on crutches and possibly out for some time is deemed fair in your opinion, he didnt even get the ball. Plus that was only one of 4 bookable offences if you went along the lines of what our players got booked for. I'm not reading the whole thread as i really cba but for any Mackem to genuinely believe they deserved to win the game on sunday is the opitimy of delusion.

One wrong decision cost us the whole game, granted chances were not taken prior to that, but our constant possession was having a massive effect and I reckon if we had retained 10 men, we would have broken you down easily by the 60th minute, and the again and again and again. Big Sam had no plan until colo got sent off, then it was so obvious a 10 year old could have devised it, you simply kept the ball defensively, when you lost it made sure you all stayed back and gave nothing away and hit us on the break, something that would never have happened had we not been on the end of a horrificly wrong, game changing decision.

If Sunderland save their best for us, then every other team in the prem is going to beat you with ease.

he got the ball clean as a whistle and the only reason Colback got hurt is because he bottled out of the challenge.

Don't take my word for it. Try listening to your own coach Paul Simpson who just said it was a full blooded challenge that Colback was unlucky because of his leg position. He said he had no problem with Cattermole's challenge whatsoever.

It was a foul but it wasn't some horror challenge like his usual offerings. Of he did commit 546 other fouls so he was probably due a card or two under the totting up procedure.

Cattermole tried to decapitate Wijnaldum moments before the 'penalty.' Persistent fouling is usually rewarded with a yellow card. Cattermole committed 6 and no action was taken. Tiote was spoken to once and then booked. Cattermole should have been given the same treatment. Also, for anyone to even claim that Sunderland deserved victory is laughable. The fact is that they never looked a threat until awarded that debatable penalty. Score first and we would have run up a cricket score.

the trouble is the only law in the game that cannot be misinterpretated is the 6 second law
anyone can see 6 seconds go by on their watches, this is fact and not an opinion as refs like to say when dealing with incidents
yet the referee's will not enforce it

the funny thing was when the ref pointed in four different directions where Clattermole had committed an offence then gave the 'no more' single with his arms
normally the ref's point out the offences then show a yellow card, I've never seen a ref do this before
Clattermole then went onto commit another foul and the ref did nothing
