Looks like Danny Ward is in the bag.

If he does join Camp and Halford here, it looks like Warnock is trying to get us promoted with half the Rotherham side that was relegated.

Good signing if it comes off. Got a decent tally for a rock bottom side and gained a lot of interest in January. Can see a lot more goals out of him in a team more stable than Rotherham.

But is he worth a million? Whilst there is a definite need to splash the cash, I hope this money isn't going to effect us signing other needed players.

From what we understand, we have roughly £4m to spend, we've already signed 4 players on a free transfer and were in need of a striker regardless. I think Ward will be good competition (or partner for Zohore). If the transfer budget is correct we still have £3m to spend on a creative midfielder.

And we still have Lambert. <doh>

And Healey when fit again. And Gonzo <yikes>

Do we still have Saadi?
Surely Lambert will be packed off somewhere. Perhaps he could go back to Trollop who brought him here in the first place!

Ward wouldn't have been my first choice but he has worked under NW before which is a big plus.

Saadi & Gounongbe have been average in the second Belgian league. That says enough.

Healey hooefully will make a good recovery & return to the squad.

that isn't considering the money from the potential sales of Noone, Pilkington, Huws, Gounongbe, Saadi and the wages saved if Lambert leaves

Hope Huws stays. What's easier- trying to find a box to box midfielder who scores goals or utilising one on the books?

He's got to be given a pre season and first half dozen league games to see if he can replicate his form at Huddersfield & Ipswich.

You may be right about Huws Ninian. He needs to be given another chance especially if it saves us a few quid.

However, I've not seen anything in him for us or Wales that leads me to believe he can fit into Colin's plans. Clearly he did well at Ipswich but I can't explain that as McCarthy isn't renowned for his development of attacking players.

I hope I'm wrong and he is a success for us. <ok>

Don't rate Huws. He does nothing for me that Ralls doesn't do better.

We haven't got time to wait for him to "blossom" - better he does it somewhere else or just sit on the bench until he does.

With the last of the parachute payments this season, it's all about a top 6 finish at least not building for the future.

Money needs to be spent on a far better midfielder who can do the business right now.

Completely agree. Huws hasn't done anything to make me want to keep him. Even seeing him play for Wales was underwhelming.
