The interesting thing Supcon is that we've lost four on the bounce and are still in top three. Once we turn it around, we can go again.

Good news on the former ambivalent on the latter.

Still intrigued by the mystery midfielder.

WoL now has article about us trying to sign Gary Madine from Bolton.

An average Championship level striker. Big guy, not the quickest but puts himself about. Scored a few for struggling Bolton including a pen against us.

    Views?

Personally I would prefer Grabban who scores more and has played at a higher level. Would be much more expensive though and has turned us down in the past.

Alternatively are WoL just picking any striker below the Prem who has scored a few, might be available and then starting a rumour. I wouldn't be surprised.

Don't want to hold anyone's past against them (too much anyway) but I thought I'd remembered this guy in the press before - we could do without another Tomlin or Ravel Morrison at the moment

"Madine has been convicted of several assaults. In November 2010 he was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm after attacking a man in a pub and sentenced to community service involving 250 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £1,500 compensation to his victim and £1,800 in costs. In October 2013 he was jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of causing actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm in two separate attacks. Madine was released from jail on 20 February 2014 after serving 5 months of his 18-month sentence."

    A couple of tweets....

    bluebirdsgossip‏@bluebirdsgossip

Can’t believe a name I was given last night that we are in talks with, from someone in the know, would be one of biggest signings in our history, not going to say name but if he signs would be unbelievable,be shocked but happy if it happens.

BTW, I’ve heard this too. I’m not going to name names (not being smug, I was told in confidence and want to keep that confidence), but I don’t think it will happen and I’m not as enthused as others anyway. Think Robbie Fowler

    The plot thickens!!!!

Hope it's not another Blobby Fowlup type - ageing Prem footballer looking for a final payday (think also Rickie Lambert).

Perhaps we should reserve judgment until we know who the player is?

I would like to see a dominant central midfielder in the Olafjnjyah mould plus a creative goalscoring one in the Kavanagh/Koumas mould. Our central midfield is hugely goal shy.

True Nin and the midfield has a staggering lack of mobility. We got outpassed by Mansfield second half Saturday ffs.

We don't seem to play in triangles, there is a lack of movement around the player with the ball who then has to either lump it, pass back or get caught in possession. This is why Tomlin is not as effective as he should be. He needs people moving ahead of him to pass to. On Saturday Zohore was like an oil tanker trying to change direction. Both he and NML need the ball moved forward to them quickly while they have some space.

Ogo Obi signed and in the DVP squad for today's game..

    Rumours
City have signed all but Amar'i Bell from Fleetwood from £1m.

Also Pilkington rumoured on loan for half his wages. City want Madine apparently to go the other way.

Another one apparently wanted by City is Grabban but seemingly Wolves are the front runners.

Rumour is City are battling Rangers for Hamilton's Greg Docherty (who?)

Obi came on as second half sub for Pilks today so presume he is a City player, and 3 other un-named "trialists" also played.

BTW, Pilks got our only goal. <doh>

Seems Warnock is still shaping the 23s. Nice to have one eye on the future. Time to have both eyes on the now though.

Hope pilks goal is noted by his potential suitor.
