cant do that we need a proven manager and coleman fits the bill idealy. ....he has not got the job yet anyway and what i can see the FAW doing is touting welshmen, Hartson,Saunders are just two that have been informed that they may apply again, I cant see any further now that sparky has joined qpr in coleman.
How any of you can be happy with Coleman, after seeing his brand of so-called football at the Liberty, too many times, is beyond me. I don't think he has the intellectual capacity, to continue the foundation laid by Speed, but we shall see, as far as I'm concerned we can do far better, this is a very unambitious appointment if it comes off!.................. please log in to view this image
if you go down the route of an established, 'experienced' welsh manager then he is the outstanding candidate, he has a decent record, strangely taking 2nd tier jobs in spain and greece and not lasting more than a year, so has some knowledge of european football, and that is in his favour. lets not forget, speed demanded top quality staff and got them in people like verheijen, people like that should be retained as they were doing a great job.. there isnt a glut of welsh managers out there, and he is a free agent. he has to be in the running
Like to clarify this Dai, as you only deal in facts, please give us the year!..................... please log in to view this image
Sorry to be pedantic. But Roy Hodgson was the Fulham manager when they beat us in the 2009 FA Cup replay.
I would agree if we were on about a club but we are on about a national side. We are a small nation with a very limited choice in quality players and they should be consulted in the choice for the next manager as we need them to be happy if we want to succeed. So if Bale and Ramsey & co say they want Verheijen then the FAW should do themselves a favour and listen because if they take, IMO, an autocratic archaic approach to appointing the next coach and completely ignored the players then we all know what will happen...we will have another bloody Toshack situation....where all our better players dont want to play and instead of being 47th in the world we will be back down in 117th struggling against the likes of Lithuania and San Marino!!!
agreed his palace team was the worst i watched against us. He will stifle the creativity in the Welsh team... mind you...I thought that of Speedo at first
Tony Pullis is Welsh, why don't we stick him in the hat as well? Because we want to play attractive football. (that's no slur on Pullis as I admire what he's done at Stoke to make them an established PL side despite how ugly they play)
